European Style for Development

Witham Wharf is the prestigious £26m redevelopment of a ten-storey office building near Brayford Pool in the heart of Lincoln. The site consists of over a hundred one and two bedroom apartments and penthouses, all with stunning views of the Cathedral, the cityscape of Lincoln and the Fossdyke canal. In such a significant development, high standards of equipment and finishing are essential.

When the developer considered the electrical system they looked for top quality in a ‘European’ style, where the trend is for wider, squarer plates that fit with modern clean-edged interior design. GET’s Rocca range of modular screwless flat plate (for the living areas), and Ultimate range of screwless flat plate (for the kitchens), all in pearl nickel finish were chosen. The range provides an extremely contemporary finish specifically designed for modern city living and offers an aesthetically pleasing style with a screwless appearance that compliment the cool, sophisticated feel of the development.

With prices in the range £155,000 - £350,000, the apartments and penthouses are fitted to the highest specification, including surround sound systems with control units that match GET’s Rocca range. Care has also been taken to include environmental initiatives such as a Green Roof and the use of low energy lighting.

“A tremendous amount of research has been undertaken to ensure the finish is of the highest quality,” said Chris Howard, Managing Director of developer, Wigford Ltd, “and buyers have the right to expect high standards. GET reached that standard.”

Rocca frames and modules can be installed separately from the decorative plate; this means that first and second fix decorating can be done before attaching the decorative plate, therefore preventing the possibility of damage. Redecoration is also easy, as the decorative plate can be removed in order to repaint without damaging the surface finish.

The Rocca modular range also finds favour within a commercial environment where the wide rockers ensure ease of use and give a modern aesthetic quality consistent with the requirements of today's commercial buildings.
