Taxis Driving NICEIC's Message Home
Over 700 black taxi cabs will be decked out with logos and advertising messages as NICEIC takes to the streets of London, Edinburgh and Manchester to remind people that getting a registered electrician will assure you of a “NICE” job - rather than dealing with a possible rogue electrician.
Research carried out by NICEIC has found that 98% of unregistered electricians are prepared to put consumers at risk by carrying out potentially hazardous electrical work in people’s homes by not completing inspection testing and certification.
“We want to take the stress out of finding a registered electrician and this taxi campaign not only promotes NICEIC-registered installers to the general public, but carries an important safety message too,” comments Angus Moir, NICEIC Chief Operating Officer. “By employing an NICEIC electrician, consumers can be confident that electrical installation work is properly checked, tested and certified in accordance with relevant legislation in England, Wales and Scotland.”
The Taxis have “NICE ONE – be sure of a NICE job when you choose an NICEIC electrician” printed on their sides, while inside, on the folding seats, the passenger sees another message; “Avoid a bad job and get a NICEIC electrician.”
“This campaign should reassure our registered contractors that we are doing our utmost to promote them,” continues Angus Moir. “Our investment in marketing the NICEIC brand to the consumer, coupled with our price freeze on registration, new services and long-established technical excellence must make NICEIC the first choice for contractors.”
The Taxis, which have already been out and about in Edinburgh, will be in London from 2nd to 29th June and Manchester 8th September until 5th October.
