Bosch GBH 4-32 DFR Hammer

Bosch has extended its range pf 4 kg rotary and demolition hammers by introducing a further model that provides high power yet lowest vibration levels in its class.

The GBH 4-32 DFR Professional weighs 4.7 kg, has a 900-watt motor and provides a single impact force of five joules. It has been specially designed for drilling 14 to 25 mm diameter holes in concrete, although using core cutters up to 90 mm in diameter through masonry is equally easy.

The tool can also be used for chiselling, especially effective when using a self-sharpening Bosch tile chisel.

In keeping with Bosch’s health and safety awareness, vibration control is a fundamental part of the hammer’s design. The result is a vibration value of only 8 m/s2, lower than on any other 4 kg class hammer. Damping vibration is achieved in two stages. Firstly an air buffer, considerably larger than that on conventional hammer mechanisms, reduces the air pressure in the tool. This effectively absorbs the oscillations like a spring, dampening the vibrations where they originate. Secondly, a leaf spring and two swivel joints decouple the main handle from the machine.

Drilling in metal or wood is also possible with the hammer as the SDS-plus tool holder can be easily replaced by the quick-change chuck included.
