Lutron Wallbox Dimmers
Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., bring high-tech energy savings to end users with its range of consumer dimmers. Based on figures from the U.S. Department of Energy, Lutron’s Wallbox products are proven to save energy as well as reduce costs by extending the life of the bulb by up to 100%. This means fewer replacement bulbs and less inconvenience from having to regularly change bulbs, particularly in hard-to-reach places.
Lighting accounts for nearly 20% of the average home’s energy bill. While incandescent bulbs are inexpensive to buy, they consume more energy than any other type of bulb and have a relatively short life, making operating costs high. Dimming a light by as little as 10%, a volume that cannot be detected by the naked eye, can save around 10% of energy. Moreover, dimmers protect against voltage fluctuation, vibration and heat build up, all of which create wear and tear and reduce the life of light bulbs. A halogen bulb with an expected lifespan of 3000 hours will last up to five times longer if dimmed by 30% while an incandescent light bulb will last nearly 10 years when dimmed 33%.

The Wallbox range includes the following product families: Lyneo, Rania and Rania Lamp Dimmer.
Available in two options, Slide To Off and Preset, Lyneo is Lutron’s simplest dimmer. Straightforward to use, the slider is adjusted to achieve the desired light level. The Preset model, can be “pre-set” to chosen light levels and has an LED light that glows so the switch can be located in the dark.
The Rania model is operated easily at the touch of a button, slowly fading the lights up and down as required. Green LEDs indicate the current light level and the dimmer can memorise the last one chosen when switched back on. The Infra-Red version comes with a remote control so lights can be adjusted from anywhere in the room.
Finally, floor and table lamps can be plugged into the Rania Lamp Dimmer, the light levels adjusted with the central raise/lower button, and the last selected level memorised.
