Focus SB Radiant Heaters
To provide economical and environmentally friendly solutions for difficult heating applications, Focus SB has just introduced to the UK market the BURDA range of commercial quality radiant heaters. These are ideal for heating infrequently used areas or buildings that are either too difficult or too expensive to heat using conventional heating systems.
Unlike traditional forms of heating which are developed to build up a body of warm air, these beautifully engineered products provide instant heat by emitting short-wave infrared radiation. This passes through the air with minimal losses and is converted to warmth as soon it comes in contact with solid matter. This form of energy efficient heating avoids the usual problems and costs associated with pre-heating an area, including the loss of heat from draughts or from hot air rising. It also feels warm to the skin, even though the ambient temperature remains the same.
To suit different applications the BURDA range includes a selection of models which range from small 1kW heaters through to the powerful 18kW versions which are appropriate for use in large open space buildings such as factories of sports facilities. By incorporating the highly effective ‘Bi-Focus’ reflectors these products ensure that the heat can be projected precisely to where it is required, so as to further reduce energy wastage.
As these radiant heaters do not consume oxygen and are emission free, as well as being odourless and noiseless, they are ideal for use in interior applications and, where required can be featured with recessed luminaires to provide a compact and practical solution for heating and lighting areas such as conservatories, balconies or terraces.
When used in conjunction with motion detectors the BURDA heaters are able to provide users with even greater economy, as they only operate when there is someone within the zoned space. This capability is particularly useful for exterior sheltered areas, such as the newly created smoking areas outside public houses.
Not only are these products manufactured from solid aluminium, for optimum strength and durability, but attention to detail and superior engineering has created an elegant and aesthetically pleasing design. By featuring the highly efficient Philip’s HeLeN halogen lamps, these heaters are able to convert over 90% of the consumed electrical power into infrared heat.
To suit exterior applications, Focus has included the IP65 TERM 2000 waterproof versions within its BURDA range. These provide ideal heating solutions for patios, balconies and terraces, sidewalk cafes or alfresco dining areas. Its ‘open design’ avoids the requirement for protection glass, thereby enabling the elements to achieve a very high durability of up to 5000 hours regardless of the number of switching motions. Being elegant and compact it also offers the advantage of being capable of integration into awnings or canopy systems. Depending upon the client’s application requirements, it can also be supplied as a multiple heater with two or three units.
To provide very stylish and cost effective solutions for high profile exterior dining areas the BURDA range has included the TERM Tower Palms. Manufactured from high specification aluminium and available in a range of power outputs, these can be used to provide effective heating over tables or seating areas.
