Ellis Patents Centaur Cable Saddles

Ellis Patents has drawn further attention to the issue of safely restraining high voltage cables by launching a
range specific catalogue for its new Centaur cable saddles.

The four-page publication features all 18 variations of the cable saddle, which is the first fully tested standard range of products that has been designed specifically to safely secure high voltage cables up to 400kV with a diameter range of 100 to 162mm.

Ellis Patents has taken a large step in rectifying this issue by successfully carrying out a full scale short-circuit test of its Centaur cable saddles in line with commonly recognised National Grid requirements – i.e. at a fault level of 163 kA peak and 63 kA RMS in both three phase and phase-tophase conditions.

The full range features 18 different saddle variations as well as optional intermediate straps and cable roller
assemblies, all of which are displayed in the catalogue.
