GreenBrook, downlights

GreenBrook has launched a new range of downlights which ensure compliance to the Fire and Acoustic
requirements of the latest building regulations for commercial, domestic and industrial applications.

As well as surpassing the rigorous Building Regulation demands, the new downlights dispense with the need for an intumescent seal. In place of the usual intumescent seal, this innovative fitting from Greenbrook
has a light casing with a series of holes in the top, beneath which is a rotating spring-loaded shutter. Under
normal operating conditions, a series of holes in the shutter align with the holes in the light casing to allow
ventilation air to pass through. In the event of a fire, or when the ambient temperature reaches 300ÂșC, a thermal link releases the shutter, which rotates, within half a second, to seal the ventilation holes and thus prevent the spread of fire.
