Probably the Best Lighting in Northampton

Venture Lighting, the world leader in Metal Halide technology, has supplied its 350W Uni-Form® Pulse Start lamps and control gear as part of a conversion kit for Carlsberg UK Limited’s Northampton facility.

The well known Carlsberg brand, with the famous strap line, was established in 1847 when it was first introduced by brewers J C Jacobsen and the Northampton site provides its headquarters in the UK.

The plant covers an area of approximately 4,200 metre square and originally utilised 250W lamps. The new Venture 350W lamps were fitted with solid reflectors within the existing luminaires to increase the lux level at 1 metre above ground level from 80 lux to 250 lux.

For advice on how to significantly increase light levels without too much disruption in such a busy operation area, Carlsberg’s facilities and electrical manager John Baker and electrical engineer Jim Johnson from contractors EI-WHS, contacted local wholesaler Midshires Electrical for advice.

Midshires recommended and supplied Venture’s 350W open rated Pulse Start lamps and 350W magnetic ballasts as part of an easy to install conversion kit into the existing fittings. Following an initial trial, there was a vast improvement in the overall illumination and excellent lux levels were achieved, enabling conversion of the rest of the facility.

John Baker of Carlsberg commented "Following the trial of the Venture lamps alongside the old 250W lamps we could see a very dramatic improvement in light levels and are very happy with the conversion".
