Is this the future of wiring devices?
Legrand has strengthened its position as the global leader in wiring devices by launching a new range that, it says, will change the market beyond recognition.
Arteor is a wiring device and home automation range that combines cutting edge style with state-of-the-art technology in a fashion that is creating a real buzz amongst interior designers, specifiers and system integrators.
Commenting on the launch, Mark Evans, Legrand’s marketing director said: "Arteor has everything in terms of looks, functionality and technical capability and we strongly believe it can take wiring devices to a whole new level."
Designed with an international outlook in order to satisfy global expectations, the range has a similarly universal appeal due to the sheer scope of its functionality. From switches and sockets through to the most advanced home automation systems, the range offers an incredible array of stand-alone and system functions that make it the ideal choice for virtually any kind of project, whether commercial or residential.
It also includes a host of innovative new products, including fully customisable lighting and scenario controls, a 10in multimedia touch screen, and a universal dimmer capable of dimming all types of light sources, including compact fluorescent lamps and LEDs. Innovation is also clear to see with the rockers that are available in two different forms – round and square – to facilitate intuitive use.
Meanwhile, the dual option of BUS (SCS) and radio frequency (Zigbee) home automation solutions means Arteor can be easily interfaced with other systems. Arteor BUS technology products have the advantage of being able to communicate with other systems such as DALI and KNX, while the Arteor ZigBee products allow for communication where cabling is not possible.
Another key element of the Arteor appeal is its strong and instantly recognisable look. A unique
bevelled profile gives the illusion that products are floating on the wall, reminiscent of flat-screen design. "Considerable time and effort has gone into delivering a range that truly demonstrates why we are the global leader in wiring devices," continued Mark Evans. "Arteor combines hi-tech performance, elegance and ease of use and delivers what we feel will fast become an indispensable reference point in terms of product innovation and design."
Arteor is initially being offered in 17 different finishes, ranging from white moulded products through to sophisticated and innovative materials such as woven metal, leather, tattoo, brushed steel and wood. The breadth of this choice is intended to ensure the range offers something for every area of any installation from high-end, high-profile locations such as modern living rooms and boardrooms through to more functional areas where products are less visible.
