New record-keeping software for manual PAT testers
Seaward has extended its range of PAT record keeping programs with the introduction of a new manual data entry product.
The new PATGuard Elements program has been designed for use with manual PAT testers that do not incorporate an internal memory for the storage of test results. The software enables test results taken with manual PAT testers to be incorporated into a formal PC–based record keeping system.
The program is intended for use by any organisation that performs electrical safety testing and maintains their own records but who require a simplified database system.
This is in keeping with the HSE Memorandum of Guidance on the Electricity At Work Regulations 1898 which advises that records of maintenance including test results should be kept throughout the life of the equipment. In doing so the condition of equipment can be monitored and the effectiveness of preventative maintenance policies demonstrated.
Assets are visually presented using an easy to follow tree structure showing the site and location of each asset. Assets can be quickly and easily transferred between sites or locations using the simple drag and drop facility. Full asset details and test result data can be quickly and easily entered via a single pop-up window . Dates of the last test and retest date are shown, with a clear visual warning if the retest interval has been exceeded.
As well as enabling accurate records to be maintained easily, PATGuard Elements also provides access to a number of in-built templates to prepare professional reports, certificates, work schedules and invoices. The software also enables test history to be compared for trend analysis. Professional test reports and certificates can be printed-off directly or Acrobat reports can be produced for those who wish to operate a paperless system.
