Continuous ventilation with heat recovery
Modern dwellings which are insulated to comply with Building Regulations to prevent the leakage of air in and out of the building, however, unless there is effective ventilation within the building, the air breathed can be contaminated.
This time of year it is not uncommon for people to suffer from or develop allergies caused by dust mites, pets, cigarette smoke or even air pollutants.
There are two types of continuous ventilation products within the Addvent product range, the Whole House Mechanical Extract (AVWH) (MEV) range and the Continuous Mechanical Extract with Heat Recovery (AVHRU) (MVHR) range. Both options offer the contractor the ideal product for the modern building environment.
While opening a window provides ventilation, the buildings heat and humidity will be lost in the winter and gained in the summer, both of which are undesirable for the indoor climate and energy efficiency.
The Wholehouse range consists of two models:
The AVWH1 model is a Wholehouse ventilation system incorporating features specifically designed to make installation and commissioning simpler and more cost effective for the installer, whilst improving air quality.
The AVWH2 Model is the DC version of the Wholehouse product by Addvent. This unit is a low carbon model which not only reduces the power consumed during operation but will also reduce the carbon footprint of a dwelling.
The heat recovery range from Addvent consists of three models;
The AVHRU1 unit is designed to continuously ventilate a room with fresh, tempered air which is essential to health and well being in the home or any other building; whether an office, factory, classroom, or hospital.
The AVHRU2DC is a low wattage unit which can reduce heating costs, and due to the DC motors it also reduces the energy consumption and the CO² for the unit, hence reducing the carbon footprint of the dwelling.
For larger premises the AVHRU3 is recommended as it provides up to 220m³ per hour free in duct (FID) balanced airflow. The model if used in conjunction with the AVACTRLHR transformer offers 6 speed settings, allowing greater control of the unit.
Heat recovery captures waste heat energy and re-uses it by returning it to systems or processes. The cost benefits depend largely on the scale of the installation, but heat recovery can give substantial long-term energy savings and often reduces the need to heat energy in the first instance.
