Power protection for industrial sectors from Cetronic

Cetronic have introduced Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) Systems, battery chargers and Inverters to provide high performance protection to those in the industrial sector.

The device sustains power in the event of an electrical failure or when the electrical mains supply drops to an insufficient voltage. Should a power failure occur, the (battery powered) Inverter administers power to the load.

When mains power returns, the loads is switched back to the mains supply and the Inverter shuts down. UPS Systems from Cetronic are a reliable and efficient way of increasing the safety of the personnel who rely on them and maximising uptime in difficult environments. Andrew Stevenson of Cetronic Power Solutions regards UPS Systems as “the optimum solution for business continuity, power protection and uninterrupted power.”

The range of power protection systems include UPS Systems, AC/DC secure power systems, static  bypass switches, voltage stabilisers, transformers, harmonic solutions and generators to cater for a diversity of electrical power quality issues. UPS Systems are available from 400VA to 800KVA in single modules and N+1 up to 6,400KVA  for parallel models.

Cetronics' pro-active ideas and understanding of this competitive market has enabled them to become the supplier of choice.Cetronic have supplied their UPS Systems to the likes of The National Library of Scotland, Edinburgh. Their new computer room saw a Single 100KVA UPS fitted and Batteries housed in a cladded rack. 10 year design life sealed lead acid batteries were used to provide 20 minutes autonomy at full load. Cetronic won the tender for this project.

Signet Group plc is the world’s largest specialty retail jeweler , with stores in the US, UK, Republic of Ireland and Channel Islands.Cetronic was employed to replace the existing UPS in the computer room.No generator was located on site therefore a long battery back-up was required. However, the space available for the new UPS and batteries was extremely small. 12 year design life front access sealed lead acid batteries were used to provide 6 hours autonomy at full load. The batteries were housed in a cladded battery stand with a footprint of only 1150x750mm to maximise space.

Although the battery enclosure weight was 2,650Kgs, leg extensions were fitted to the stand so that the weight was borne by the concrete floor (not the raised computer room floor).Touchstone Ltd and Smartest Energy Ltd are amongst many of the other leading companies currently utilising Cetronics' UPS Systems.
