New Ordinary Trustee at IET

Dr. Simon Hart, Principle Development Engineer at Control Techniques in Newtown, Powys, has recently been elected as an Ordinary Trustee at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Having joined the IET 19 years ago, Hart has been a member ever since he studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Surrey, and has been an active volunteer for the last seven years. He has previously held a number of significant posts at the IET, including Chair of the Shropshire Local Network and Chair of the IET Council.

He currently works at Control Techniques’ UK Engineering and Design Centre, The Gro, at Newtown.

Hart says: “I am really proud to have been elected as an Ordinary Trustee at the IET. My role begins on 1 October and lasts for three years and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the organisation.”

Mark Bulanda, President of Control Techniques, adds: “Simon is an excellent engineer and I know that he will do a fantastic job as an Ordinary Trustee of the IET. I am thrilled that a Control Techniques employee has been elected to such an important post in such a prestigious organisation. It is wonderful that Control Techniques has so many links with the IET, such as the Accredited Graduate Mentoring Scheme. I am determined to ensure that we at Control Techniques continue to develop our close links with the IET.”
