Using RCCBs in harsh environments?
Locations such as swimming pools, agriculture, printing works, paint shops, horticultural, sewage treatment, mariners etc. produce noxious and corrosive gases which can affect the operation of electrical products – see Regulation 132.4.
Even high quality RCCB tripping mechanisms can be susceptible to corrosion when mounted in this type of environment, which could result in the device not tripping when required to.
Doepke manufacture a variant “Type HD”, incorporating tripping/latching mechanisms manufactured from special stainless steel for use in harsh environments. The HD version is available on all Type A and Type B RCCBs.
Doepke offer full technical and commercial support locally in UK and have a reputation as a world specialist in residual current protection, with a proven high quality RCD product offer - 4000 variations designed and manufactured in Germany.
