Klauke ‘talks’ the ‘torque’
New VDE blades have been launched to create the perfect electrician's torque driver from Klauke. The new combination covers torque ranges from 0.5Nm to 5.4Nm allowing full conformance to BS 7671:2008, Reg 134.1.1.
Regulation 134.1.1 of BS 7671:2008 states: Good workmanship by competent persons or persons under their supervision and proper materials shall be used in the erection of the electrical installation. Electrical equipment shall be installed in accordance with the instructions provided by the manufacturer on the equipment. The desired torque is easily set on the end of the handle in 0.1Nm increments, giving a precise release via a mechanical and audible signal. Interchangeable VDE insulated blades are available with the most popular being the Z1 and Z2 (plus/minus) suitable for termination contact screws. When loosening contact screws the torque control is eliminated and the blade becomes fixed; aiding removal of corroded or jammed screws.Supplied with an individual calibration certificate traceable to international standards, this is the new tool for every electrician.
