It's a Mega offer - but hurry!
After an enthusiastic response from contractors across the UK, Megger has re-launched the popular offer comprising an MFT1720 multifunction installation tester partnered, at no additional cost, with one of the company’s newly launched TPT320 two-pole testers. The offer runs from 1 June to 31 of July 2015. MFT1720 testers provide comprehensive and easily accessed facilities for testing electrical installations in accordance with the 17th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations.
They have colour-coded controls which make range selection fast and straightforward, and which also minimise the chance of using the wrong function or range.
Designed from the outset with safety and convenience in mind, MFT1720 multifunction testers have a CAT IV 300 V safety rating in line with BS EN 61010 and are extensively protected against damage if they are accidentally connected to a live supply when a dead circuit test is selected. This protection is effective even if the test has been locked on.
The versatile MFT1720 offers insulation testing at 250 V, 500 V and 1 kV, continuity testing at 200 mA and 15 mA, as well as tests for 30 mA, 100 mA, 300 mA 500 mA and 1000 mA and variable RCDs, with facilities for timesaving automatic RCD testing. Two-wire and three-wire non-trip loop tests are offered together with a high current loop testing option, and the instrument automatically displays maximum Zs and R1 + R2 display for circuit verification.
The TPT320 two-pole testers included free of charge in Megger’s new kits are an ideal complement for the MFT1720 tester. Compact and fast to use for simple tasks like measuring voltages and checking continuity, TPT320 testers are also very well suited to proving circuits are dead, as they make connections to the circuit under test with an integral probe and a permanently connected test lead. This means that there is no risk of an accidentally unplugged test lead producing misleading and potentially dangerous results.
These convenient new testers not only have a CAT IV 600 V safety rating in line with EN 61010-1:2010, they also comply fully with the recently introduced EN 61243-3:2010 standard that specifically covers the safety of two-pole voltage testers.
TPT320 two-pole testers have both an LED display and an LCD panel. The LED display provides an instant at-a-glance indication of voltage in six steps, plus, in the case of DC voltages, polarity. The LCD panel simultaneously provides a three-digit readout of the voltage being checked.
