Philips expands consumer lighting portfolio (15 February 2010)
Royal Philips Electronics announced that it has agreed to acquire Italy-based Luceplan SpA, a leading consumer luminaires company in the lighting design segment in Europe. Upon closing of this transaction in the second quarter of 2010, which is subject to certain conditions, Luceplan will become part of the Consumer Luminaires business in the Philips Lighting sector. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Energy Saving Street Lighting (02 April 2009)
Royal Philips Electronics, in partnership with Flintshire County Council, has created an improved street lighting solution whilst achieving an substantial 30% in energy saving. This has been realized by replacing the monochromatic low pressure sodium lighting along Milwr Road in the Pentre Halkyn district and Cross Tree Lane, Hawarden with Philips MASTER CosmoPolis lamps running on the new Lumistep switchable gear system.

Project for Total Office LED Lighting Unveiled (30 June 2008)
Royal Philips Electronics announced on Monday that it will light the world’s first office entirely with LED solutions. The office, owned by Generali and located at 100 Champs-Elysées Avenue, Paris, marks a milestone in lighting history. For the first time, functional office lighting, powered entirely by LEDs, goes hand in hand with scene and atmosphere effects that are also LED based.
