Cable gets a gold star for flexibility
The John Lewis department store in Cardiff has been equipped with over 20,000m of Prysmian’s FP200 Gold cable in the fire alarm loops.
Electrical contractor Crown House Technologies carried out the work. Ian Horton, an electrical technician for the company said: "I like working with FP200 Gold for a number of reasons. Firstly, I find that the cable is dressable yet flexible and therefore keeps a straight line when installed on surfaces. There is no festooning which can affect other more flexible cables when surface fixed. Secondly, there are no awkward tapes to remove, making installation much faster."
FP200 Gold is approved to BSEN50200 PH30 and additionally the 30 minute survival time of Annex E for the ‘standard’ requirement of BS5839-1 for fire alarm systems and BS5839-8 for voice alarm systems, and to BSEN50200 PH60 for the requirement of BS5266-1 for emergency lighting.
