Acute wiring project (21 December 2011)
Prysmian’s FP Plus cables, with enhanced Insudite insulation, have been used exclusively for the fire system installed in the New Acute Hospital in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The hospital is scheduled to be completed in June 2012 and will provide 312 patient beds.

Changing legislation for cable joint resins (25 November 2010)
From December 1st 2010 cable resins containing MDI are re-classified as Carcinogen Category 3, suspected of causing cancer and will carry new labelling to this effect. Subsequently, Prysmian is advising contractors and specifiers to adopt a "Substitute it Now (SIN)" philosophy when it comes to choosing which resin products to use for jointing cables.

Prysmian's Afumex LSX low fire-hazard range has been developed to address the specific needs of modern building services. It is designed for power and lighting circuits where a screened low smoke halogen free cable is required. BASEC approved to BS8436, it meets all the requirements of the 17th edition Wiring Regulations for installation in thin walls and partitions, amongst other applications.

Prysmian safeguards biomass facility (20 October 2009)
Prysmian has supplied its FP cable for what will be the largest renewable biomass co-firing project anywhere in the world, at the Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire. Both FP200 Gold and FP400 are being fitted in the fire detection and fire alarm systems at the new £80 million pound development. In total some 10 km of FP400 and FP200 cables will be installed throughout the new facility.
