Bi-stable power relay for single-pole load switching
E-T-A Circuit Breakers has introduced a new bi-stable power relay designed for single-pole switching of loads in vehicle and watercraft applications.
Suitable for use as a battery disconnect relay, or for switching other high current circuits, the robust E-T-A PR80 offers side or foot mounting styles and promises protection against water and dust ingression.
The new power relay is available in ratings of 100A, 200A and 300A for 12V, 24V or 48V DC circuits. In release condition, its power consumption is zero, making it suitable for use in battery-powered systems. The body of the power relay protects against water and dust ingress to IP67. Optional suppressor diodes eliminate the risk of damage to control circuitry by back-emf voltage peaks. An insulating barrier between the main terminals also protects against shorting when the cables are originally connected.
