Power Electrics wins major maintenance contract
Power Electrics Generators has been awarded a two-year contract to maintain all standby generators at the three hospitals making up Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust – John Radcliffe, Churchill & Horton General Hospitals.
The contract involves the major and minor servicing of all the hospitals’ generators which range from 7kVA to 2000kVA. Power Electrics will provide temporary generators to support the critical site load whilst undertaking the major services – a stringent regime that takes hospital power protection a step further than most maintenance regimes. Over the two year contract Power Electrics will provide a 24/7, two hour emergency on-site response by an engineer.
Using Power Electrics own load banks each temporary generator will be tested for four hours before connection to the critical site load. After each service and before reconnecting to the critical site load the generator is tested using Power Electrics Load banks for five hours.
Leigh Preece, Power Electrics service sales manager, said: "This critical application is a significant contract for the Power Electrics service department and demonstrates its ongoing commitment to providing a specialised service".
